9. Whole House Renovation
Background
Original 1,620 sf stucture was built c. 1902 as a single story house with two bedrooms, one bath and a small kitchen.
Project scope
• Renovated space is 2,855 sf (485 new on the ground floor, 750 in the new second floor)
• Five bedrooms, three baths
• Gourmet kitchen
• Existing rear rental cottage remained and was home to the clients during the renovation
Green features
• Project utilized low-VOC paints
• High-efficiency HVAC
• High-efficiency water distribution
• Icynene insulation
• Reclaimed pine flooring was selected to match existing floors
• Unpainted scrap wood was recycled for the client to use as landscaping mulch
