We live in a large, old house with lots of historic character, if you know what I mean. Over the past two years Peter has helped us with a number of renovations ranging from cosmetic work such as replastering large areas of wall and ceiling surfaces to removing walls requiring structural, load bearing solutions.

His most impressive accomplishment was the successful identification of a problem inherent in the initial design and construction of the house. Our house has a complex roof system of several high pitches. The articulation of the pitches directs a large amount of water to flow off the roof in a relatively small area. The result was a front entrance area that was rotting through to the interior and was highly unattractive due to a build up of mildew.

The design of the roof was a given. Peter's solution involved a change in the collection and distribution of the water. It was evident that over the years a number of solutions had been attempted without solving the problem. Considering the size of the problem, Peter's solution was inexpensive and effective without altering the look and historic character of the house. The workmanship was flawless, and we are now rot and mildew free.

Peter knows that we are very particular about the quality and historic authenticity of the work we put into our home. Yet, like most people, we must work within a budget. Peter has a talent for developing more than one solution, all of which will work but have varying price points based on a myriad of technical and practical considerations. This approach has allowed us to allocate our financial resources to meet overall goals in the improvement and maintaining of our home.
